About this programme

A practical programme for personnel responsible for planning, coordinating and supervising safe lifting operations involving cranes, lifting appliances and lifting accessories.

Participants develop the knowledge required to supervise lifting activities safely, coordinate the lifting team and verify that lifting plans, equipment selection, communication and site controls are suitable before work begins. The programme combines technical fundamentals with practical planning and supervision exercises.

Who should attend and entry requirements

Who should attend

  • Lifting supervisors and appointed lifting personnel
  • Site managers, engineers and supervisors
  • Safety and health personnel
  • Experienced riggers, slingers and signalmen progressing to supervision

Entry requirements

  • Recommended age: 21 years or above
  • Able to read and write in Bahasa Malaysia or English
  • Physically fit for practical activities
  • Prior rigging/lifting experience or a recognised rigger qualification is strongly recommended
  • Final entry criteria depend on the selected certification scheme

Lectures, case studies, lifting-plan exercises, equipment demonstrations and practical/team activities where facilities permit.

Assessment method

Theory knowledge check plus practical or lifting-plan assessment. Final pass criteria to be confirmed by Horizon.

Certification awarded

Certificate of Attendance and/or Certificate of Achievement upon successful assessment. Do not claim statutory registration unless the exact scheme is formally recognised.

Validity and refresher

Employer/client or certification-scheme specific; confirm before publishing.

Recognition and compliance note

Industry skills training. Any DOSH CEP, CIDB CCD or competency claim must be verified for the exact programme, trainer and assessment arrangement.
