Theory and practical forklift training designed to strengthen operator knowledge, pre-use inspection, stability awareness and safe load-handling skills.

This programme helps forklift operators understand the legal and operational responsibilities associated with powered industrial trucks. It covers forklift components, stability, capacity, inspection, travelling, load handling, parking, refuelling or charging and practical operating techniques with theory and practical assessment.

Who should attend

Entry requirements

  • Valid local/overseas/international driving licence OR more than 3 months' forklift operating experience for the referenced basic scheme
  • Able to communicate verbally in Bahasa Malaysia or English
  • Physically and medically fit to operate a forklift
  • Employer/site authorisation and suitable PPE
  • Refresher participants should hold prior forklift training/experience

Certificate of Achievement/Competency upon passing theory and practical assessment; operator card only if included in Horizon's selected scheme. Attendance-only wording should be used for awareness/refresher without competency assessment.

Validity and refresher

The referenced NIOSH Basic Safe Handling scheme states 3 years. Confirm that Horizon uses the same scheme before publishing this validity.

Recognition and compliance note

Do not claim a statutory forklift licence; employer authorisation and workplace-specific competency remain important. Any NIOSH or client recognition must be tied to the exact scheme.
